I had the privilege to photograph Teresa and Henry while in Washington DC this past weekend. They were troopers to wake up early on their weekend to hang out with me and Heather.

As I was culling images, I couldn’t resist posting a few. No doubt, there will be more posted soon!

They had scouted out this beautiful garden in Georgetown! I would have had no clue of its existence.

Last week, my “day job” took me to Bethesda, MD. I parlayed my business trip with Heather’s business trip in New York for a short weekend with her in the Big Apple. Instead of taking the usual tourist-y photographs, I really wanted to capture these four days the way I saw them. To that end, the photographs below might not show the city, per se, in each picture but certainly paints a picture of the two cities the way I experienced them.

I hope to post more frequently and am looking forward to two shoots I have scheduled in the upcoming weeks.

My oldest brother, Zach, wanted to take his 3 boys for an overnight camping trip. It just so happen that the day he planned was also my little brother’s birthday. The family ended up cooking hot dogs and s’mores together in celebration of Scott’s birthday (and the nephew’s campout too). Here are some images from tonight.

Photographing Taylor and Stephanie’s wedding was more like hanging out with friends than working. Though I have known Taylor for years, I had the privilege to get to know Stephanie a little better shooting her bridals a couple months ago; what a great couple. They were wed at the picturesque Munger Place Church and then partied with friends and family afterwards at Off the Grid.

Congrats to Taylor and Stephanie!

Adam and Libby | Engagements

While enjoying a nice rainy weekend (and a North Texas conference win), I was able to spend a little time editing photos and wrapped up this awesome engagement session. The day began at Libby and Adam’s subway station at 68th and Lexington. We then walked to Central Park and spent a little while just exploring the park. Finally, we wrapped up at Times Square.

The weather stayed clear for us and the city treated us well, for which I am thankful. I am already looking forward to their upcoming spring wedding.

A few weeks ago, Stephanie and I ventured down to the Trinity River Audubon to shoot her bridal portraits. You would have never known that it was about 105 outside by looking at how effortlessly Stephanie posed outside. I have been waiting impatiently for their wedding to share them with you. Last night Stephanie and Taylor were wed in a beautiful ceremony (and fantastic after-party). Congratulations to Stephanie and Taylor!

Puerto Rico | Destination Wedding | Personal

My lovely wife’s sister got married in Puerto Rico on Monday. Despite Irene’s best effort, the wedding happened and was glorious, partly due to the story they will tell for years and years. If it is good luck to rain on your wedding day, how much more are they blessed to have a hurricane on their day? Congrats to Hillarie and Steven and thanks for letting Heather and I share the day. Without further adieu, hello Irene!

The storm blew in late Sunday afternoon and we left the island on Tuesday before Irene did. Luckily, Heather and I woke up early Sunday morning and took advantage of the sights San Juan had for us.
